Trauma Recovery with Internal Family Systems (IFS)

2569741091Trauma can leave deep imprints.

Past traumatic events can shape how you see yourself and interact with the world.

It can make you feel unsafe in certain situations that might trigger past traumatic events. This fear and uncertainty can impact relationships with others and keep you frozen in place, unable to move forward with your life.

It might show up as persistent anxiety, overwhelming emotions, difficulty trusting others, or even a sense of disconnection from yourself.

If you have experienced trauma, it is essential to know that healing is possible – and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Overcome the effects of trauma through therapy.

I use Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate and empowering approach, to help clients heal from trauma.

IFS views the mind as having different “parts,” each carrying emotions, memories, and roles. For those who have experienced trauma, certain parts may carry the pain, shame, or fear, while others take on protective roles, working hard to shield you from further harm.

In our work, we will gently explore these parts, helping them feel heard and understood. By building a relationship with your inner world, we’ll begin to unburden the parts that carry trauma’s weight and restore balance. IFS is not about revisiting painful memories in a retraumatizing way; instead, it’s about creating a safe space for healing and fostering self-compassion.

Through this process, you will develop a greater sense of self-awareness and connection, allowing you to move beyond survival mode and start living more fully.
