ROCKED BY STORMY SEAS

Since October 7, 2023, many Jewish Americans have found themselves shaken – emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

The surge in antisemitism, the shock of war, and the deep sense of vulnerability have disrupted even the most grounded among us.

You may be feeling unmoored – troubled by anxiety, sleep problems, a sense of hypervigilance, or a loss of trust in the world around you. You’re not alone.

These feelings are a natural response to a traumatic and uncertain time.

BEING HIT BY WAVE AFTER WAVE

Every day seems to bring another wave of distress. News headlines, social media, and even conversations with friends can feel charged or isolating.

Perhaps you’ve felt compelled to explain your identity, defend your values, or remain silent just to maintain peace.

This isn’t just stressful – it’s exhausting.

You might notice yourself withdrawing, avoiding interactions, or feeling emotionally shut down. The people around you may not fully understand or may unknowingly make it worse. It’s hard to carry all of this without support.

HOPELESSLY ADRIFT

For some, the events of October 7th and everything that followed have stirred up old grief, trauma, or identity conflicts.

You might feel unsure of your place – politically, culturally, or spiritually. You may be struggling with questions like:

Where do I belong?

Is it safe to be who I am?

What do I do with my anger, fear, or sorrow?

When the world feels unstable, it’s easy to feel lost.

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE

Maybe you’ve tried to push through, hoping it would get better with time. But avoidance, numbness, or over-functioning can only go so far.

The emotional weight builds, and the risk of burnout, disconnection, or unhealthy coping increases.

Therapy offers a place to process what you’re carrying – in a space where you don’t have to explain or defend your identity.

Together, we can explore your fears, reconnect with your inner resources, and chart a way forward.

Not by erasing the pain but by helping you respond to it with clarity, strength, and self-compassion.

A Jewish Therapist Who Gets It

I am a Jewish therapist with a Frum (Orthodox) background, a yeshiva education, and lived experience across Conservative and Reform communities.

I understand the nuances – from the inside out.

In a time when antisemitism is rising, and Jewish identity can feel politicized or misunderstood, having a therapist who speaks the language – culturally, emotionally, and sometimes literally – can make a big difference.

You don’t have to explain the basics. You can show up as your full self. Whether your Jewish identity is central to what you’re working through or just part of the picture, you’re welcome here.

YOU NEED A GUIDE

You deserve a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself and explore your feelings openly. Empower yourself with the tools to feel more confident and in control of your emotions. It’s time to give yourself the support you need to thrive. This is where I come in.

Hi, I’m Joshua.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an Orthodox background, a yeshiva education, and experience across Conservative and Reform communities. I work with Jews and non-Jews of all ages, 13 and up, who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity struggles.

My approach blends multiple modalities, always tailored to the person in front of me. I take my clients’ pain seriously, but I also believe therapy should feel human. That means compassion, clarity, and yes, sometimes humor – because healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time.
